چکیده
Abstract During the past two decades, robots have been increasingly deployed in games. Researchers use games to better understand human-robot interaction and, turn, inclusion of social during gameplay creates new opportunities for novel game experiences. The contributions from robotics and communities cover a large spectrum research questions using wide variety scenarios. In this article, we present first comprehensive survey deployment We organise our findings according four dimensions: (1) societal impact games, (2) as platform, (3) interactions (4) scenarios materials. discuss some significant achievements potential avenues gaming communities. This article describes state art on hope that it will assist researchers contextualise their work field, adhere best practices identify future areas multidisciplinary collaboration.

Language Games for Autonomous Robots
extraordinarily difficult and poses challenges for both integration and grounding. Here, I propose a unifying idea that meets both challenges: language games. A language game is a sequence of verbal interactions between two agents situated in a specific environment. Language games both integrate the various activities required for dialogue and ground unknown words or phrases in a specific conte...
متن کاملSelf-Reconfiguration in Modular Robots Using Coalition Games with Uncertainty
We consider the problem of dynamic selfreconfiguration in a modular self-reconfigurable robot (MSR). Previous MSR self-reconfiguration approaches search for new configurations only within the modules of the MSR that needs reconfiguration. In contrast, we describe a technique where an MSR that needs to reconfigure communicates with other MSRs in its vicinity to determine if modules can be shared...
متن کاملFrom Games to Applications: Component Reuse in Rescue Robots
Component-based software engineering is useful for embedded applications such as robotics. However, heavyweight component systems such as CORBA overstrain the ressources available in many embedded systems. Here, a lightweight component-based approach is used to implement the system software of the so-called CubeSystem, CubeOS. Since 1998, CubeOS and its component system have been successfully u...
متن کاملUsing games in Oncology Teaching
Introduction:Educational methods can be classified into two groups: active methods and passive ones. Applying games is an active approach in teaching. The present study aimed at investigating the effect of games on teaching oncology. Methods: Twenty three medical students participated in the study. They took two class sessions of oncology. In the first session the basic principles and concepts...
متن کاملGrounding Language About Actions: Mobile Robots Playing Follow Me Games
This paper presents a new experiment that has been carried out in the context of the research on the origins of language that is going on at the Free University of Brussels. Two mobile robots ground time series of motor commands into categories. The categorization is based on the theory of phase space reconstruction and learning by generation and selection. Besides the categories, the robots tr...
